Photo Laminating-Top 5 Ideas

December 17th, 2010 Andrew No comments

Here are the Top 5 things you can do to utilize your photo laminating machines and process.

1.      Photo Collages

Photo Collages created using a laminating process will make it a collage to remember for years to come. The purpose of a collage is to give the person memories that they can remember. By laminating each individual photo and then placing them onto a poster board, or even a corkboard, you can keep those memories clear and durable for years to come. Or you can  laminate the entire photo collage, To do this, you will want to make sure each of your photos are properly attached, and then laminate. Secure each photo with glue that will keep all of the edges down. Then proceed to feed the entire collage into the rol-laminating machine. This will be the best way to photo laminate a great collage gift for someone you care about very much.

2.      Magnets

Yes, you can also create photo magnets which you can share with your friends/family of that “got to remember” moment. You can create small pictures using your computer photo editing software and then proceed to laminate the small pictures your print out using small business card laminating pouches. You can purchase self-adhesive magnetic strips and apply them with glue to the back of the newly laminated photos. Now proceed to give them out as party favors, gifts, or just stick them onto the fridge!

3.      Scrap booking

Laminating your photos for a scrapbook is also an awesome idea. The photos in your scrapbook will be preserved as fresh as the day you took them for years to come. You can use a pouch laminator for your photographs or a roll laminator. If you are using antique photos or documents than you should use a cold roll-laminating machine. A non-sticky back will be created and you can stick it onto your delicate photos to preserve their quality. You can also laminate any documents, letters etc that you would like to place in your scrapbook

4.      ID Photos

You can laminate ID photos for either your business or educational needs. If you have company that demands high security, then you will want to laminate your employee ID badges. Laminating machines will incorporate photo laminating and include the employee’s name. For added security, you can add nano text or scripts to your id tags . And just imagine the time your company/ school would save by using a laminating machine rather than doing it by hand

5.      Mouse Pads

Yes you can laminate photos onto a mousepad.  Imagine the possibilities. Im sure you’ve seen all the commercials for  personalized credit cards.  Now you can do the same to mousepads.  In order to create your own personalized mouse pads, you will need a pouch laminator for your photo. Look for a high quality pouch laminator with heated rollers or a  heated plate. A heated plate will give you the best lamination job possible. You will also need a mouse pad kit. After you have placed your photo along with your mouse pad into the photo-laminating machine, trim the picture and the mouse pad so that they fit each other.

Do self laminating pouches really work?

December 17th, 2010 Andrew No comments

Question by pokey0980: Do self laminating pouches really work?

Best answer:

Answer by Buckleigh
The self laminating pouches that I have used do work. They are designed to stick to themselves, NOT the item that you are put in them. This is a good thing, as there may be a day that you don’t want the item encased in plastic, so your item is not damaged by a sticky piece of plastic.

The pouch works like this: Two sides of the pouch are open; you slide the item into the closed corner, trim the clear plastic, leaving about 1/8″-1/4″ selvage. This edge is key, as this is what keeps the pouch closed, and your item protected.

Laminate Barrier Film – THERM-O-TYPE

December 17th, 2010 Andrew 1 comment

When single sided laminating, barrier film is keeps laminating film from sticking to heated rollers. Barrier film also protects toner image areas on the back side of the sheet while single sided laminating.
